The Internet itself is a case study in standards, openness and interoperability trumping corporate culture of dominance, competition and win-lose mentality. Following and promoting Internet standards is the key to simplifying the web. Mergers will only lead to a stupider and lazier technology ecosystem. Microsoft would love to turn TCP/IP into MS/IP and have the Internet be nothing more than MSN.]]></description>
